Stupidity Offends Me

I just love the quote where he says... You cannot fathom what these games will be like in [x-number] of years. I bet my life on it.
The interesting thing is that the man that said that probably cannot comprehend games currently, so the idea of him comprehending them 20 years from now or whatever he said is a given.
The problem is, I dont' know what they want. A ban on video games? Restrictions on them? More stringent ratings?
You know, ratings are nice. I'm a fan. Having ratings that more closely resemble the tv show ratings would be nice, so parents who are unable to step into this century can at least get a vague idea of how appropriate a game is for their child.
The problem is that most parents wont even do that much. They simply think "game equals child-friendly," which is an ignorant, simplistic, and ultimately flawed and perhaps dangerous way of thinking.
Sit any child in front of any medium no matter how innocent without parental guidance, and the little buggars are gonna screw up. That's life.
But what really really PISSES ME OFF is that they sited 9-11. EXCUSE ME? Did you just fling that terrible day from your lips just to incite fear in the hearts of the ignorant? Is that what their deaths mean to you now?
And anyway, it's the very same ignorance that leads men to give their lives for a cause like extremism. They think we are a godless people because of our pluralism and belief that people can choose whatever they want to do, even if it's against the will of God.
Guess what, senator Leiberman, Jack Thompson, and the rest of you sorry fucks... you're thinking like them.
@Edit: Just to be clear... when I say "them" I mean extremists, not the general spiffy muslim population. My patience has no room for backwater ignorant prejudicial fart-knockery. Video-game-hating, religious or other wise.
